- About the Fido Host Nodes DAs:
-
- This thing gives you a scrollable list so you can tell quickly where a net is,
- how expen$ively far away it is, and what name it goes by. This was originally
- designed solely in defense against poorly written origin lines. Like ours.
-
- The DA is updated from the FidoNet NodeList every so often. The date last
- updated is shown at the bottom of the window. There are always many trivial
- changes and a few additions and deletions. Overall it grows. This package is
- current as of NodeList 073, dated 13 March 1992, and is guaranteed to contain
- errors, just like the NodeList.
-
- Don't look for updates every week. Nag me every three months or so and I'll
- probably respond. If anyone wants to upload this thing to one or more of the
- big-guy services like GEnie or AOL, please be our guest, but please be nice and
- give us the credit (nudge, nudge).
-
- If you upload this to a bulletin board, please take steps to see that the
- older version(s) is/are deleted, as the information contained in the DA goes
- stale immediately!
-
- There are two DA versions. The smaller one pops up the fastest and includes
- net numbers and cities in zone one. The larger includes only zone one net
- numbers, cities, states, and sysop name. The largest one covering nets,
- city names, and countries for zones one through six has been dropped due to
- lack of interest.
-
- I edited this up using Bill Steinberg's DisplayDA. Please click on the author's
- credits imbedded in the bottom button of the DA's window for his copyright and
- restrictions. Please don't distribute it without his credits and DATA resource
- intact, and if you do modify this DA version, please remove our credits.
-
- The DATA resource gives instructions on modifying the DA to fit your own needs
- (such as default window size, position, and colors) and the original author's
- credits. The smaller it is, the faster it both fires up and scrolls. If you
- edit out most of the DATA resource on your *PERSONAL* copy it'll cut the DA
- down by another 7K or so and it will open up faster, but _clearing_ this
- resource will break the DA.
-
- Hitting a C/R or Enter executes a page-down. Hit a period to close. The Up &
- Down arrow keys should scroll smoothly and the PgDn, PgUp, Home and End keys
- should work as expected. Command-C should copy all of the displayed text to
- the clipboard. Even the TAB key works.
